Refund policy

As we deal in used items that are generally no less than 40 years old we do not offer returns unless one of two things occur-

1. The item is damaged in transit and arrives in a condition that is significantly worse than when it left our store room.

2. The item you receive is significantly not as described, or SNAD for short, which you can see the definition of below.

Please contact me at MerchantManDelft@gmail.com as soon as possible and I will process the return for you. Returns will be accepted in these cases up to 14 days from reception.

***For lighting issues please see below for more details***

"Significantly not as described" items at MerchantMan Vintage

Items that don’t match their listing description or photos are considered “significantly not as described” (or SNAD).

What is considered SNAD?

Here are the main cases that would be considered SNAD:

  • Wrong colour
  • Incorrect size
  • Missing item parts
  • Bundles with missing items
  • A damaged item (stained, ripped, broken or damaged in any other way) that wasn’t detailed in the description or photos
  • Different main materials from the listing (if at least one is inaccurate)
  • Counterfeit
  • Any other visible flaw that wasn’t detailed in the listing
What is not SNAD?
  • Items that you don’t like or that don’t fit your style
  • Minor differences to an item that don't affect its use or look (slight colour differences due to lighting; in case of multi-material items, differences in the additional materials not listed in the description, etc.)

***This does NOT include lighting that no longer functions without showing signs of physical damage. I do my best to sell items that are in working condition that can be used and enjoyed for years. However, in my experience, Vintage/Antique lighting can be finicky and sometimes connections will fray or a switch will not make contact after being jostled in transport. In almost all cases this does not mean the light can no longer function. It may need a new wire, it may need re-attached to a contact point. This, and more I cannot plan for as I wish to retain the original condition of the items I offer. I want to be fair in these cases and I am willing to work with you to try and find a solution to the issue. So, if you encounter this, please send an email to MerchantmanDelft@gmail.com so we can troubleshoot the problem.
